I can’t help wondering whether Bruno Major is pleased or annoyed by sharing his initials with a similarly-named major pop star. On the one hand, sloppy internet searchers might be disconcerted at arriving at the wrong singer’s home page; on the other hand, such errant finger-clicks could garner greater visibility for Major’s well-crafted indie-folk. A conundrum.

Nevertheless, we’re quite enjoying the Londoner’s recent release, “The First Thing You See.” It’s a warm, lithe piece, with gentle finger-picked guitar, near-whispered verses, and rich choruses. A great song for your autumn Monday afternoon.
