Late last week Ryan Adams dropped another new track, “To Be Without You,” from his upcoming album Prisoner. A few weeks ago he shared the record’s first song, “Do You Still Love Me?” (We posted it here.) Apparently not content merely to drop the album version of that song, Adams recorded and pressed a different version of it, too—which he plans to hide (like belated stocking-stuffers) in some some of his forthcoming box sets.

Audio for “To Be Without You” is below. It’s a quiet, acoustic-driven ballad, with lithe percussion and yearning vocals, much in-line with Adams’ resurgent alt-country leanings of the past few years.

Prisoner is due February 17th on Pax Am/Blue Note. Enjoy.
